Aristarchus Region


Aristarchus close-up on 30 September 2002. Celestron 14 and Philips ToUcam Pro webcam. Colour information in this image has been retained (normally I convert the images to grayscale). Saturation was increased a little but no changes were made to colour balance.


The following image was made in the morning of 28 July 2002. Seeing was bad, so I only imaged in the 820 mm focus of my Takahashi 102 mm f/8 refractor. I chose some brightly lit areas, contrary to normal procedure to image the terminator. Camera was a Philips ToUcam webcam. Each time a sequence of 180 images was made. These images were aligned in RegiStax and 5 to 10 best images were then stacked. Photoshop was used to make the image below.
