Comet C/2007 E1 (GARRADD)

IAUC 8818: COMET C/2007 E1 (GARRADD)

Discovery:

G. J. Garradd discovered a 15th magnitude comet with a 35" coma on Siding Spring Survey exposures taken with the 0.5-m Uppsala Schmidt telescope on 2007 Mar. 13.72 UT.

The available astrometry, the following preliminary parabolic orbital elements, and an ephemeris appear on MPEC 2007-E70.

Following posting on the Minor Planet Center's 'NEOCP' webpage, numerous CCD observers have reported on the object's cometary appearance, including A. Lepardo, V. Santini, and G. Sostero (Remanzacco, Italy) on Mar. 14.1 UT,  P.Birtwhistle (Great Shefford, Berkshire, U.K.), on Mar. 14.1,  E. Guido (Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, remotely ) on Mar. 14.4,  D. Tibbets and G. Hug (Eskridge, K), Mar. 14.4,  J. Young (Table Mountain Observatory) on Mar. 14.4,  D. Mayes (Table Mountain Observatory) on Mar. 14.44-14.46,  J. E. McGaha (Tucson, AZ) on Mar. 14.5,  J. G. Ries (McDonald Observatory) on  Mar. 14.5
