COMET C/2020 S3 (ERASMUS)

     Nicolas Erasmus from the South African Astronomical Observatory, reports his discovery of a comet with a diffuse, symmetrical coma of size 8" (full-width- at-half-maximum) in four 30-s CCD images taken in 5" seeing on 2020 Sept. 17.6 UT with a 0.5-m f/2 Schmidt reflector at Mauna Loa, Hawaii, in the course of the "Asteroid Terrestrial-Impact Last Alert System" (ATLAS) search program.  After the object was posted on the Minor Planet Center's PCCP webpage, other CCD astrometrists also commented on the cometary appearance
