Discovery:  [ CBET 5183:  COMET C/2022 U1 ]

     G. J. Leonard reports discovery of a comet in four 30-second co-added survey images taken on Oct. 20 UT obtained by Mt. Lemmon Survey (G96), noting a very condensed 8" coma. Prediscovery positions going back to Sep. 2022 were reported. Additional reports of cometary features are as follows:
