 IAUC 7552 : COMET 2000 Y3:

J. V. Scotti, Lunary and Planetary Laboratory, reports his discovery of a comet with the 0.9-m Spacewatch telescope. The comet shows a coma diameter of 7" and a 0'.93 tail in p.a. 269 deg; he also measures m_2 = 19.7. Period = 10.83 years

IAUC 9163: recovery of COMET P/2000 Y3 = 2010 Q1 (SCOTTI) - J. V. Scotti, University of Arizona, reports the recovery of comet P/2000 Y3 (cf. IAUCs 7552, 7553) as an essentially stellar object on images obtained on Aug. 19 and 20 with the 0.9-m Spacewatch reflector at Kitt Peak. The indicated correction to the prediction on MPC 65937 is Delta(T) = -0.46 day.  The recovery observations, together with accidental pre-recovery observations on 2009 Sept. 18 by T. H. Bressi with the Spacewatch II telescope, are given on MPEC 2010-Q19, together with a linked 2000-2010 orbit, residuals and a current ephemeris.
