This comet was discovered in the course of the NEOWISE survey program on CCD-images taken on 2021 jan. 3 [ CBET 4908 ]

M.P.E.C. 2021-A100: COMET C/2021 A2 (NEOWISE)

 J. Chesley reports the discovery of a comet in NEOWISE (C51) survey data obtained on Jan 3. UT.  She reports a 5 arcmin coma in detected in the 4.6 micron channel.  Additional reports of cometary features are as follows:
