Comet C/2021 D2 (ZTF) (astro.vanbuitenen.nl)

Discovery: ( CBET 4948:  COMET C/2021 D2 )

apparently asteroidal object discovered in a survey called the "Zwicky Transient Facility" (ZTF), in CCD images taken using the 1.2-m Schmidt telescope at Palomar on 2021 19.5 febr., has been found to show cometary activity by CCD astrometrists elsewhere.  The object was reported twice by the ZTF survey team as two different objects (on Feb. 19 and Mar. 9)

 An object detected on Feb. 19 UT by Palomar Mountain - ZTF (I41) was initially reported as a possible NEO. E. Guido reports it displayed a diffuse 8" coma on Mar. 15 UT in 20 unfiltered 60-sec exposures by iTelescope Observatory (I89). Additional reports of cometary features are as follows:
